Formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1986, Goo Goo Dolls grew from punk and alternative roots into one of pop rock's best-known bands. Led by vocalist and guitarist John Rzeznik and bassist and vocalist Robby Takac, the group built a lasting audience with melodic songwriting and emotionally direct lyrics.
The band's 1998 album Dizzy Up the Girl brought major hits including “Iris,” “Slide” and “Black Balloon.” Other notable songs include “Name,” “Here Is Gone” and “Big Machine.” The group has continued releasing music, including 2022's Chaos in Bloom, while touring with a catalogue that spans decades. “Iris” remains a signature song and a familiar audience singalong.
The event listing names Def Leppard and The Struts alongside Goo Goo Dolls. The supplied lineup does not identify which act opens, so set order and performance lengths may vary. The concert is scheduled for May 7, 2027, at Golden 1 Center, bringing this multi-generation rock lineup to downtown Sacramento.
Golden 1 Center is a downtown Sacramento arena that hosts concerts as well as sporting and other live events. For a rock show, lower-bowl seats can offer a closer view of the performers, while elevated sections provide a broader perspective on the stage and production. The best choice depends on budget, sightline preferences and the final stage configuration.
Concert layouts may differ from event to event, and the stage setup can affect views from individual seats. Review the event's seating map and listed section details before choosing tickets; no specific obstructed or preferred sections are confirmed here.
Parking availability and prices can change by event. Consider checking current options near the arena and comparing walking distance, arrival timing and exit routes before selecting a space.
